MeRT featured in “The Washington Post” for TBI, PTSD, and Autism

January 10, 2020 by Dr Spencer Miller

The Washington Post wrote an article about MeRT, which stands for Magnetic E (for EEG and EKG) Resonance Treatment and how it has helped patients suffering from TBI, PTSD, and Austim.

The article tells the story of Staff Sgt. Jonathan Warren, who suffered a traumatic brain injury and PTS, after being injured and witnessing his best friend almost die during OPERATION Iraqi Freedom. Jon suffered traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress after returning from the war, and credits MeRT protocol for his recovery and for being able to get his life back.

Jon now works at The Brain Treatment Center in Newport and dedicates his life to veteran outreach and getting those folks the help that they need to recover from these debilitating conditions.

The Washington Post also reports on how this same type of treatment is also helping patients with autism. You can read the entire story here.

Dr. Spencer Miller, a prominant Dallas neurologist,  has also undergone MeRT treatment personally for treatment of a traumatic brain injury. After undergoing treatment, he was convinced that this revolutionary technology could help others and opened The Brain Treatment Center – Dallas in January, 2018. The clinic treats patients suffering from Major Depressive Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-traumatic Stress, Autism, ADHD, OCD, Anxiety, Parkinson’s Disease, and after effects of Stroke.

To date, the neuromodulation equipment used in the MeRT process has been cleared by the FDA in the treatment of Major Depression Disorder, but it may also be used off label for other disorders such as the ones listed above.

If you would like to learn more about how MeRT can help you or a loved one, please contact our new patient coordinator. She will be happy to get all of your questions answered, and can set you up for an appointment if requested.
