What is EEG-guided TMS Therapy (MeRT)?
At Brain Treatment Center Dallas, we specialize in EEG-guided TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), including repetitive TMS (rTMS). This safe, noninvasive, drug-free treatment uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate brain regions involved in mood, cognition, and emotional regulation.
Because each person’s brain functions differently, our Dallas clinic focuses on an individualized approach rather than standardized protocols.
Our approach, known as MeRT® (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy), is a personalized form of TMS guided by quantitative EEG (qEEG) brain mapping. By identifying a person’s unique brainwave patterns, we can precisely target and adjust treatment over time.
This data-driven approach helps support healthier communication across neural pathways and is often associated with improvements in focus, sleep, mood, and overall quality of life.

At Brain Treatment Center Dallas, MeRT is guided by detailed brain mapping that helps identify where communication in the brain may be disrupted. This data is used to direct gentle magnetic stimulation to specific areas of the brain, with treatment adjusted over time based on how the brain responds. Sessions are noninvasive, performed in our Dallas clinic, and follow a structured schedule designed to support steady progress.

EEG-guided TMS (MeRT) uses FDA-cleared neuromodulation technology for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The MeRT system is also FDA-cleared for the personalized treatment of PTSD in adults, and is the first personalized, EEG-guided device cleared for PTSD.
In the practice of medicine, this technology may also be used off-label for other neurological and mental health conditions, including TBI, ADHD, autism, learning disorders, stroke recovery, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, long-COVID symptoms, and anxiety-related conditions. Off-label use is not FDA-cleared.

What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a noninvasive therapy option for individuals seeking alternatives to medication. Using real-time biofeedback, the brain learns to recognize and adjust its own activity patterns, supporting healthier regulation over time.
Neurofeedback is often used to address concerns such as ADHD, sleep disorders, focus challenges, and emotional regulation.
Dr. Miller is a board-certified neurologist who oversees treatment at our Dallas clinic, supported by a trained clinical team.
Meet Our Medical Director:
Dr. Spencer Miller
Dr. Spencer O. Miller is a board-certified neurologist and the Medical Director of Brain Treatment Centers in Dallas, Plano, and Fort Worth. He is affiliated with Baylor University Medical Center and the Texas A&M Science Center College of Medicine.
Dr. Miller received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and has more than 15 years of clinical experience, including five years serving in the U.S. Air Force, where he treated soldiers with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Today, Dr. Miller specializes in EEG-guided TMS (MeRT), focusing on conditions such as traumatic brain injury, depression, PTSD, dementia, autism, and other neurological disorders.
Dr. Miller also speaks multiple languages, including Spanish.
